Today was the Beverly Hills Farmers' Market 2008 Piesta. We have a reffy friend (Head Ref for the L.A. Derby Dolls), Hurtin' Ernie, who is a HUGE pie fan. Maybe the hugest pie fan ever. He loves pie. It's not the Roller Derby I know and love. It's more the Roller Derby I remember. They chose to showcase AZRD and TXRD, and both are leagues that promote "fake" fighting. Things like "pillow fights," and "penalty wheels." I know there's a strong feeling against that sort of thing in our league, but I don't hate on leagues getting by. It's fun ( Read more... )
